Although a bus service is available from the ‘Zona Naturista’ we recommend, (if you have not already decided) the hiring of a car for your stay. This will allow you free access to visit the many towns, villages and remote naturist beaches in the area.
Guide
books and maps are available in the apartments to provide you with information
for the area, however, we have provided some very brief information below. In
the immediate area are the following towns: - Vera:
Approx 10min drive inland, typically Spanish with some modernization on-going,
banks, supermarkets, and general stores will provide you with all your needs.A
stunning bullring is located on the approach road to the town, even if you do
not agree with bull fighting it is worth a visit on non-fight days, where you
can be shown around by a guide at little cost. Garrucha:
Approx 10min drive, fishing port and marina, again a host of banks and
shops, restaurants etc. Very popular with the Spanish in the evening due to the
numerous seafood restaurants, that are located along the seafront. Mojacar/Playa.
Approx 15-20mins drive, Catering for locals and tourists alike (busy in summer),
numerous restaurants and beach bars along the seafront strip of approx 5kms.
Towards the far end (south) can be found the ‘British’ bars. Mojacar
Peublo:
Approx 15mins
drive; very old hilltop village, although catering for the tourists it retains
it’s old Spanish charm, spectacular views and sunsets can be seen from this
vantage point, busy in the evenings. Villaricos: Approx 15mins drive; a quiet seaside village, with a small fishing harbour, marina and promenade. A few bars and restaurants. Desert
Springs Golf Course; Approx
15mins drive, recently developed to PGA standards, worthy of a visit even if you
do not play. Additional golf courses can also be found in the Mojacar area,
sorry but we are unable to provide further information, as we do not play.
